Taste Cumbria - Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September

Fast approaching, the 6th Taste Cumbria festival is upon us.  I’m sure you’re all aware of this but as a quick summary, the layout is based on previous years, and will be virtually identical seeing the main ‘producers market’ down the Main Street.  We will have 80 producers in all and clearly will be a busy and hopefully exciting weekend.  Market Place will play host to the hot food area and children’s area.

Tour of Britain Advertising Opportunities

The Times & Star is planning its advertising coverage of the Tour of Britain and has an offer for local businesses who would like to promote their company and hopefully encourage visitors to spend with them on the day or in the future.

They'll be running a full page in the paper on Friday 4 Sept and the ads will also go online, reaching an audience of more than 58,500 people. If you were able to offer a discount voucher, or a special offer for the future, we can promote this on the Chamber of Trade stalls on the day of the Tour too (Tues 8 Sept).

Cockermouth Tourist Information Centre

Cockermouth TIC

As visitors come to the town, a key location for information is the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in the town.  This is managed by the town council and a few members have expressed their thoughts and ideas on how things could be potentially improved.

If you have an idea, thoughts or comments that could help, please email Steve Bishop and we can pass onto Joe to add to the melting pot of the town council to review and consider.

Tour of Britain 2015 - Go Yellow and Blue

Go yellow and blue!

Please decorate your windows, shop fronts and everything you can to help make the town yellow and blue to promote the tour and showcase the town in the build up to and for the tour.  Some exciting things are being planned with family activities in the Kirkgate (see earlier post) and other exciting ideas that should help put Cockermouth on the map.  We need your help though so please support where you can.

Tour of Britain Information

Offers and promotions for the Tour of Britain ‘Taste Cumbria / Cockermouth’ mini market.

Do you have an offer or promotion that you want to shout about over the Tour of Britain day?  Our ‘mini market’ on the Main Street will include a double stand to promote the town and area/up coming events.  Part of that is the opportunity to add your leaflets / promotion to the table for potential customers to pick up.
