Marketing update

Hi all,

Last nights meeting discussed the survery results so far.  Given the results and the discussion, we will be pausing delivery of any more marketing at this time that was previously outlined and discussed for delivery.

We are exploring ideas to utilise someone for social media posts on behalf of the town/chamber on a trial over the summer as a paid service and will review results.

Invitation to launch evening

Marion Bowman, the chair of the board of Trustees at Kirkgate Arts, has asked me to write to invite the members of the Chamber of Trade to a reception we are having on April 20 at 6pm to celebrate the launch of our new live-streaming service. This new development at the Kirkgate means that we will be able to show the best of national and international theatre, opera, music and other events, live via satellite, beginning with the Old Vic’s production of ‘Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead’ on April 20, following the reception.

Meeting reminder

Just a quick reminder the next chamber meeting on Monday 10th April at 6pm at The Bush.

A short update on our marketing ideas, your comments and thoughts and update (all being well) from Joe.

If anyone has any agenda items for AOB then please let me know on

Facebook advertising

Many businesses will have tried boosting posts, but that is not the most effective way to advertise on Facebook, even though it can be an excellent tool to reach certain audiences.

Using the advertising interface within your Facebook account will always yield better results, but best of all is the Facebook Power Editor, which puts some powerful marketing and targeting tools at your disposal.
