1st June 6pm - Sue Hayman MP Meeting

Sue Hayman MP will be hosting the June chamber meeting at 6pm at the Kirkgate with Allerdale BC Councillors (Graeme Wilson and Councillor Phil Tibble TBC).

She will be discussing flood related issues for businesses and talking about a campaign to protect the towns traders.

Cockermouth School & Empty Shop Windows

We've been approached by Cockermouth School via the Kirkgate about using any empty shop units or shop windows during the activities week in July 11-15 (or possilby beyond)

The idea would be to create some art as a temporary installation that could be left in for the week if not over the summer if possible.

Initially this could help if we have any empty shop windows or can you spare some space to showcase some of the artworks from the school?

Advertising with the Chamber

As you're hopefully aware, the chamber is embarking on some strategic marketing to support the town.  You can have a product in the first publication for just £30.

We have resereved some double page slots in Cumbria Life this year.  The first is in June's edition which is due to be finalised by Wednesday 11th with spaces limited and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

1st June 6pm - Sue Hayman MP Meeting

Sue Hayman MP approached the chamber a few weeks ago regarding a meeting and we have finally been able to get a date planned in.  Wednesday 1st June at 6pm has been agreed upon - venue TBC.

She is looking at the idea of supporting a campaign connected to shops in the town.  She is also meeting with the relevant ministers regarding flood insurance and would like to meet with as many chamber members as possible at this meeting.  Format is to be confirmed but suspect it will be a presentation by her with discussions following.

Please pencil the date into your diaries.
