Launch of grant scheme for businesses affected by the floods

Funding is now available to support businesses severely affected by the recent flooding - whether flooded directly or affected less directly through, for example, extended road closures.

Grants are available to non-farming small and medium sized businesses (up to 250 full time equivalent employees). Support for farming businesses is being arranged separately through Defra.

Spirit of Christmas 2015 - Thursday 12th November 5 - 8 pm

Don't forget tomorrow night (Thursday 12th November) is the Spirit of Christmas.  The late evening, which is being supported by the town’s chamber of trade, will be from 5.00 – 8 pm

It is being stressed that the late night experience is not an exploitative venture for rich pickings or high-pressure selling – but more a chance for people to browse for ideas to relax, to have fun and to take advantage of an early opportunity to shop at the end of what might have been a stressful day.
