The Cockermouth Flood Trail was devised jointly by the Civic Trust and Chamber of Trade with the aim of helping visitors understand the background and impact of the flooding that hit the town in November 2009. The Flood Trail leaflet includes a map of the town centre and a self-guided walk with short explanations at 28 locations. It is available from the Tourist Information Centre, Wordsworth House shop and various other outlets.
The Chamber of Trade is also offering businesses tidemark window stickers, which show the height of the flooding round the town centre.
To get a tide mark sticker or copies of the Flood Trail leaflet contact Joan Hardie of Bitter Beck Pottery on 07803 174120 or email email@example.com
