Yorkshire-based property developer Opus North will be hosting a consultation event for its proposed retail development on Low Road. The consultation event will be held on Tuesday 26 January at St Joseph's Parish Hall, Crown Street, from 2-6.45pm.
Tom Arnold of Lexington Communications, on behalf of Opus North, has written to the Chamber about the consultation.
"The proposed development would bring two 16,000 sq ft retail units to Cockermouth, regenerating a brownfield site and supporting new jobs and investment.
Opus North sees these proposals as playing an important role in bringing investment and new jobs, the vast majority of which are likely to be taken by Cockermouth residents, to the town.
Before we submit a planning application, we want to hear from as many people as possible about
their thoughts on our proposals. Opus intends to consult fully with the local community and understand the views of local people on the future of the site. We would therefore be interested to hear your views on our initial proposals and on how best to engage with the local community."
